Scouting is a team effort — and that includes our amazing parents and carers! To help our sessions run smoothly and safely, we operate a Parent Rota system. It’s a simple way for families to support the group and be part of the fun.
What is the Parent Rota?
The Parent Rota is a schedule where parents volunteer to assist during weekly meetings or special activities. You don’t need any scouting experience — just a willingness to help out!

What Will I Be Doing?
Depending on the session, you might:
- Help set up or tidy away equipment
- Supervise games or activities
- Assist with crafts or badge work
- Support outdoor activities or walks
- Be an extra adult for safety and supervision
How Often Do I Need to Help?
We ask each family to volunteer once per term if possible. More help is always welcome, but even one evening makes a big difference!
How Do I Sign Up?
- Complete the online form on this page.
- Speak to a leader to pick a date
- Or email us to be added to the schedule
We’ll send reminders and make sure you know what to expect.
Why It Matters
Your support helps us:
- Keep activities safe and well-supervised
- Offer more exciting and varied sessions
- Build a stronger community around our group
Plus, it’s a great way to see what your child gets up to in Scouts!
Want to Do More?
If you enjoy helping out, there are other ways to get involved — from fundraising and admin to joining our leadership team. Just ask!
Thank You!
We couldn’t do it without you. Your time and support help us deliver Skills for Life and unforgettable experiences for every young person.
