Uniform and costs

Our uniform gives everyone in Scouts a sense of belonging.

Wearing a uniform is comfy and practical. It means no one feels uncomfortable or left out and helps everyone feel part of the group. Our uniform consists of a sweatshirt or shirt that you can sew badges on and a red and white coloured scarf or ‘necker’ to represent 2nd Braintree & Bocking Air Scout group. There are lots of other optional accessories you can wear such as hats, hoodies, trousers or shorts.

Costs

2nd Braintree & Bocking Air Scouts charges a fee (called subscriptions or subs) to cover the costs of the annual membership fee, the groups’s running costs and the regular meetings costs – which covers venue hire, admin, insurances and materials for activities. Although many of these costs are annual in nature, to make it more affordable for parents we spilt these costs into monthly payments. There are sometimes extra charges for special activities, camps and events. We try to keep our subs as low as possible so that anyone can come to Scouts. If you need help paying subs, please speak to our Group Lead Volunteer

Our Current Monthly Fee is set at £11 every month. payable by monthly standing order.

Uniform Suppliers

A uniform can be bought from many different locations, some of which we linked here. If you’re not sure where to start, leaders can give you more information about what to buy. They may even know if someone is selling a uniform second hand on sites such as Vinted
